A former Israel Ambassador to Ukraine Reuven Din El has passed away on February 27. On behalf of the Honorary Consulate of Israel in the Western region of Ukraine and on my own, I wish to express my most sincere condolences to the family of Mr. El Din in connection with the irretrievable loss.
Mr. Reuven was born in Vilnius, but his parents were originally from Ukraine. His father is a native of Lviv region, his mother is from Odessa. After repatriation to Israel, he had graduated from Haifa University and the Higher Military Academy of the IDF and then he served in an elite unit of the military intelligence, later worked at the "Mossad" Office of External Relations. Reuven Din El served as the Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine from 2011 to 2014.
I have been acquainted with Mr. Dean Elem for many years, and I knew him as a purposeful man, a professional of the highest level and a true patriot. His work on the position of Israel's Ambassador to Ukraine has identified a stable development of the bilateral relations between our countries.
Reuven Din El died of cancer on the 60th year of life.
