Experience of the refugees’ socialization, together with the development of cooperation in security and medicine, was discussed by Sofa Landver, the Minister of Immigrant Absorption of Israel, Alex Miller, the Head of the interparliamentary Association “Israel-Ukraine” and MP from the political party “Our Home – Israel”, and Oleg Vyshniakov, the Honorary Consul of Israel in Western region of Ukraine
On 20th of December, a meeting was held between Sofa Landver, the Minister of Immigrant Absorption, Alex Miller, the Head of interparliamentary association “Israel-Ukraine” and MP from the political party “Our Home - Israel”, and Oleg Vyshniakov, the Honorary Consul of Israel in Western region of Ukraine.
Ms. Landver emphasized the need for cooperation between the two countries in many areas and, particularly, in such an important issue for Ukraine as refugees and internal immigrants.
Sofa Landver and Alex Miller claimed that they perfectly understand the psychological situation in Ukrainian society taking into account the armed conflict in the East of Ukraine. Oleg Vyshniakov announced that a number of rehabilitation trainings and seminars would be carried out for the ATO participants as well as for the refugees from the eastern regions with the support of the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine.
Being in the state of war during almost all of its history, Israel has invaluable experience in the prevention of terrorist acts, community outreach and psychological rehabilitation of victims. During the meeting, Oleg Vyshniakov raised a question of the possibility of collaboration with Israeli experts and opportunity to organize special training programs on correct behavior of people during terrorist attacks. These programs are ubiquitous in Israel. The number of civilian casualties has been reduced to a minimum because of them.
According to the Honorary Consul of Israel in Western region of Ukraine, Israeli experience in the treatment of cancer patients may help Ukrainian clinics significantly. Oleg Vyshniakov emphasized the fact that politicians should take all reasonable steps to give Ukrainian doctors opportunity of joint practice and consultations with Israeli colleagues.
Alex Miller said that a number of essential steps have already been taken to pursue this goal: the issue of opening the Ukrainian market for the Israeli drugstore network is under consideration. It will help to resolve the issue of medication shortage for cancer patients. The politician also announced the possibility of opening an Israeli Diagnostic Centre in Ukraine.
Oleg Vyshniakov as the Honorary Consul of Israel works closely with the Israeli and Ukrainian politicians, who promised to assist in every possible way.
Being the chairman of the lobby of schoolchildren and students, Alex Miller discussed with Oleg Vyshniakov an idea of creating education programs on safety of Ukrainian students.
