Direct flight from Lviv to Tel Aviv is the key to the tourism development
This topic was discussed during the working meeting between Yitzhak Carmel Kagan, the Deputy Ambassador of the State of Israel in Ukraine, Oleg Vyshniakov, the Honorary Consul of the State of Israel in Western Ukraine, and Oleg Synyutka, the Head of Lviv Regional State Administration, which took place in Lviv on 27th of January.
According to the Honorary Consul, the Ukraine International Airlines is ready to launch a low-cost direct flight between Lviv and Tel Aviv in April.
“The connection between the two countries is one of the topical issues. It will promote the creation of closer business contacts, development of tourism and cultural ties with Western Ukraine. Closer cooperation in tourism industry is of prime importance” the Consul noted.
According to Oleg Synyutka, the Head of Regional State Administration, Lviv is interested in launching the direct flights. He is looking forward to discuss this issue with the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ukraine International Airlines.
“This shall encourage an overall development. It is also necessary to lead a promo campaign for the region to show its advanced features. After all, Lviv region has significant prospects for pilgrimage tourism as well as tremendous resort potential in Morshyn, Truskavets, Skhidnytsya, which we should develop”, the Head of the region noted.
Mr. Vyshniakov also emphasized that the State of Israel is interested in the development of pilgrimage tourism to Ukraine. According to the Honorary Consul, many Israeli are of Ukrainian descent. They’d love to visit their relatives. Moreover, Israeli hospitals are interested in opening rehabilitation centers in Ukraine, since this country has mild and prolific climate.
Officials paid great attention to the necessity of strengthening the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Israel, especially in attraction of investments and security.
The creation of a Free Trade Area is one more crucial issue, said Mr. Vyshniakov. He also submits for consideration of the Head of Regional State Administration a number of projects from the Israeli partners, which can be implemented in Ukraine.
Mr. Synyutka pointed up that attraction of foreign investment capital will show economic strength and safety of Central and Western regions of Ukraine in these turbulent times for Ukraine.
The Honorary Consul suggested the Lviv City Mayor to offer local businessmen to participate in agriculture exhibition “Agritech” that will take place in Israel in April. This will promote business cooperation and attraction of new investors.
All parties discussed possibilities of sharing Israeli experience in the security, psychological rehabilitation of soldiers and humanitarian aid.
Mr. Synyutka promised full support of initiatives of Mr. Vyshniakov and Mr. Kagan for the enhancement of cooperation between Ukraine and Israel in such fields as business, culture and education.
