Israel and Western Ukraine develop travel, economic and social cooperation

On 29th of May a number of events took place in Lviv within the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the State of Israel in Western Ukraine. These events will facilitate the development and strengthen of ties between the two countries.

A round table, involving Lviv businessmen and Elisabeth Soloviov, Commercial attaché of the State of Israel, was held on 36/3 Gasova str. Participants discussed possibilities of cooperation between Israel and Western Ukraine. In her speech Ms. Soloviov stressed readiness of Israeli investors to consider partnership with Ukrainian companies and the most desirable ways of cooperation. Ukrainian businessmen received exhaustive information on Israeli market specifics, all documents and details that are necessary for attraction of Israeli partners.

Peculiarities of higher education in Israel and how to enter Israeli Universities were outlined within a lecture, given by Vlad Lerner, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Israel. Nearly a hundred of Lviv students and lecturers visit the lecture of Mr. Lerner.

One more effective event was the Travel Fair with Israeli and Ukrainian tour operators that was carried out under the patronage of the Honorary Consulate. Development of the travel business is one of the top-priorities in Israel-Ukraine relationships. More than 400 thousand Israelis are of Ukrainian descent. A tour to Israel embodies recreation, pilgrimage and wellness tourism for Ukrainians. Within the Travel Fair tour operators of the two countries had an opportunity to communicate b2b and to form strategies for different tourists.

Representatives of 5 Israeli tour operators, 8 leading Lviv hotels and 17 Ukrainian travel agencies participated in the event. During the last working hours of the Fair, it became open for everybody. People had an opportunity to buy travel tours to Israel at special prices.

Such bilateral events facilitate the development of cooperation and understanding of problems of the two countries. As Oleg Vyshniakov, the Honorary Consul, noted in his speech, such educational seminars and Travel Fairs will be carried out under the patronage of the Honorary Consulate on a regular basis.
